Fontana is a small village just south of Victoria, in the Gozo & Comino District, on the road toward Xlendi. Its name comes from its springs, and it is known for the historic public washing spring (Il-Għajn tal-Ħasselin) and a parish dedicated to the Sacred Heart.

Fontana lies immediately south of Victoria, on the road descending toward Xlendi. It belongs to the Gozo & Comino District and is one of the smaller localities of Gozo, closely tied to the island's main town.
History of Fontana
Fontana grew around the springs that gave it its name, in the valley between Victoria and Xlendi. The covered washing house, Il-Għajn tal-Ħasselin, was built in the 19th century under British administration to channel the spring for public use, and remains the village's landmark. Fontana later became a parish dedicated to the Sacred Heart.
