History of Żebbuġ
Żebbuġ grew as a farming and craft community on the fertile uplands of northern Gozo. The working of stone and the carving of the coastal salt pans, where seawater is still evaporated to harvest sea salt as it has been for generations, are among its enduring traditions. Marsalforn developed from a fishing cove into the island's busiest summer resort.
