Iklin — modern central suburb: residential town and living
Iklin is a modern residential locality in the Western District of central Malta, between Lija, Naxxar and Birkirkara. It is one of Malta's newer towns, developed mainly in the later 20th century as a low-rise residential suburb.

Iklin lies in central Malta between Lija, Naxxar, Birkirkara and Għargħur. It belongs to the Western District and is one of the smaller, newer localities, bordering the older Three Villages.
History of Iklin
Iklin was historically an area of fields and scattered houses between the older central villages. From the second half of the 20th century it was developed as a planned residential suburb of villas and apartments, and it was later established as a distinct locality. It does not have the deep historic core of the surrounding old villages.
