History of Fgura
Fgura developed largely in the 20th century as population spread outward from the Three Cities and Paola. It was established as a parish dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and grew into one of the more densely populated towns of the harbour area. Its growth reflects post-war urban expansion rather than a deep medieval or Order-period history.
