Qala — Gozo
Qala is the easternmost village of Gozo, looking out across the channel to Comino and Malta. Its name means "harbour", and below its quiet streets lies the popular swimming spot of Ħondoq ir-Rummien, making it a peaceful village with a fine stretch of coast.

History of Qala
Qala developed as a farming village on Gozo's eastern heights. Among its landmarks is an old restored windmill, a reminder of the days when wind power ground the island's grain, and the small, ancient chapel of the Immaculate Conception (the "Qala chapel") near the coast. Its position facing the sunrise and the channel has long shaped village life.
